Lines, Spring Pads, and Landings

How to hold a downhill line, use red spring pads, and read landing and glide callouts without inventing a route map.

Fast times in SKI (ALPHA) come from a repeatable line, not from holding a turn the whole way down. The game does not publish a named route list. Articles that rank real-world backcountry tours are a different activity and do not describe this mountain.

Keep the line

  • When the slope is open, point downhill instead of traversing.
  • Every large correction spends speed. Set up before a narrow section or a jump, not in the middle of it.
  • Use a jump when the landing continues your line. Skip it when the landing forces a panic turn.
  • Compare one corner or one landing across attempts. Changing the whole run at once hides what actually saved time.

HUD samples in published footage pass 200 mph and, on one recorded run, touch 471 mph. Those are readings from those attempts, not a speed cap and not a target you should crash for.

Spring pads

Red circular pads sit on the trail. As you approach, the game can mark distance with a label such as POWER-UP and a meter reading. Hitting the pad launches you and has been shown awarding SPRING +45.

Leaving the ground can also show a POP-style bonus. Treat the pad as the start of an air sequence: line up early, take the launch, then look at the landing.

Wings and chains

On long airtime, footage shows dark wings on the skier and a CHAINED +30 callout while gliding. The official control list does not name a wing button. Do not assume Q or E deploys them; those keys are the documented trick inputs. If wings appear, use the glide to face the landing, then cut the trick before you touch down.

Other callouts seen on the same kind of footage include COMBO multipliers and a SCRAPPY bonus. They illustrate the scoring style. They are not a complete score table.

Ghost racer

Ghost Racer defaults to on. It draws a translucent copy of your top run on the current server, visible only to you. Use it to see where a previous attempt was straighter. It is not another player's ghost.

Private-server length

On a private server, the owner gets top-bar controls for course length and difficulty. A shorter course is less hill per attempt. That can make repeats quicker, but the game has not published an XP-per-hour table, and there is no confirmed calendar of boosted XP events. Change length to practice a section, not because a hidden multiplier is documented.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is SKI (ALPHA)?

SKI (ALPHA) is a free Roblox downhill skiing game by the SKΙ group. You ski a steep course, keep your speed, land tricks, race other players, and chase faster times. Crashing costs the run.

Do skins make you faster?

Most guides describe skins, trails, and crates as cosmetics, and one beginner guide says unlocks do not change the footing of a run. A separate pedestal writeup claims Banana! and Lightning include a +15% speed perk and disagrees on their rarity. Read the text on the stand in your current server before you treat any ski as a speed upgrade.

When can I ascend?

The level readout has been shown as 1, SURVIVOR, with LVL 100: ASCEND as the milestone. A player reply on a game clip also said to reach level 100 and ascend. TesterPensil is described as an unlock for ascending twice, at level 200. What Ascend pays out after the reset is not published, so do not assume a permanent stat bonus.

Is there a confirmed Discord invite?

Code writeups say new codes are shared in the game's Discord, and some say the game page links it. This wiki does not have a verified invite URL, so use the Roblox game page and the SKΙ community instead of an unverified invite.
